Royal Bengal is airborne, as the company launches its first scheduled flights!

Royal Bengal, the first 'truly' British Bangladeshi Airline has completed its domestic infrastructure set-up and has officially launched its full domestic passenger service in Bangladesh on Thursday 31st January 2008.
Royal Bengal’s first aircraft ‘Hazrat Shahjalal RA’ successfully flew into Zia International Airport in
Dhaka, October 2007. Since then, extrinsic obstacles relating to the negotiations of soaring oil prices
and the sudden change in regulations on customs and taxation on imported aircrafts in Bangladesh
delayed the launch of its services.
A company spokesperson said; “The Directors of Royal Bengal would like to thank their Investors, the
Media and the public for their outstanding support, patience and tremendous resolve.”.

Royal Bengal flies high in the skies of Bangladesh

‘Royal Bengal’ a truly British Bangladeshi airline celebrated the arrival of its first aircraft as it roared through the skies of Bangladesh. The Dash-8 flew into Zia International Airport in Dhaka where Royal Bengal Directors gathered to see this momentous occasion. The aircraft has undergone a series of maintenance checks and upgrades, with the work carried out to the highest of European standards by Cirrus Airlines, aviation partners of Lufthansa in Germany.
Abdul Kadir Chowdhury, the Royal Bengal Group Chairman, was present as the aircraft flew into Zia International, he expressed his gratitude “This venture has finally become a reality and this is a time to celebrate, I thank our investors for all the support we have received from them and the global Bangladeshi community.

Bird Information Systems empowers Royal Bengal Airline with reservation hosting solution

Bird Information Systems Private limited (BIS), a leading technology provider of automated aviation and travel related software solutions, today announced another strategic partnership with Royal Bengal Airline, for the use of its Airline Inventory and Reservations System (AIRS). Mohammed Shalim Rahman, Managing Director of Royal Bengal Airline and Mr. Ankur Bhatia, Executive Director, Bird Information Systems signed the contract today.
Under the terms of this contract signed between the two companies, Bird Information Systems will provide the booking technology for the Airlines’ Inventory Hosting, Reservation at City & Airport Offices and Internet Booking Engine. Royal Bengal Continues to Roar!!!!!

Royal Bengal, the first UK based British Bangladeshi company to launch a domestic, regional, and international airline have recently assigned a delegate to visit Germany. Heron Miah, The Vice Chairman of Royal Bengal confidently said “The aircraft was handed over to us on the 1st June and is now undergoing maintenance work in Germany to prepare it for full service as soon as it lands in Bangladesh."

The Royal Bengal Bird gets a paint job as it prepares to roar through the skies of Bangladesh for you.

The Livery for the first Royal Bengal Aircraft has been finalised and preparation is underway to get the aircraft painted with the Royal Bengal flying colours. Mohammed Shalim Rahman stated "I cant wait to get this bird painted and flown into Bangladesh, the Royal Bengal team have been working hard in overcoming all obstacles that have put in its way to deliver on its promises". The final inspections and maintenance work for the first aircraft is underway in Germany and a delivery date should be announced shortly.
The Aircraft paint work has been specially designed to uphold the companies brand and the initial designs have been highly praised by the bengali community and the main stream aviation world.

The Boishaki Mela drew hundreds of thousands of people all around the globe to Brick Lane on the 13th May 2007. The wet weather did not dampen the spirit and excitement of the event where the climax of the event was a true fusion of culture and tradition explored through fashion, food, music and arts.
Royal Bengal Airline was a Major sponsor of the event broadcast live on Channel S and ATN Bangla, where a global audience of more than 2.5 million viewed the event. Royal Bengal Airline head office in Hanbury Street (off Brick Lane), was open to the public for the first time where swarms of people flocked the premises to find out more about this unique airline venture and to meet the pioneers in person!

Senior directors of Royal Bengal Airline whom have recently traveled to Bangladesh for the
infrastructure setup of its domestic and regional services, have finally returned after a successful visit.
The team gained the support of senior officials from the government. Key meetings have included
talks with the Advisor to the Foreign and Commonwealth Ministry and the Deputy High Commissioner
of the British High Commission, Dhaka.
Royal Bengal Airline managing director, Shalim Rahman said, “we are in an excellent competitive

Royal Bengal Airline was welcomed with opened arms on the 6th March 2007 in a meeting held in Dhaka with Bangladesh’s foreign affairs advisor, Dr Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury.
Royal Bengal Airline was part of a group of delegates lead by Mohammed Monchab Ali JP of the Greater Sylhet Development & Welfare council of the UK. Royal Bengal Airline managing director Mohammed Shalim Rahman and other senior directors Shahidul Islam, Mizanur Rahman, Forhad Hussain were present at the meeting which also included high profile Bangladesh government officials.

Millbrook Hall, the Menzies Avant Hotel, Windsor Road, Oldham for a personal introduction to Royal
Bengal Airline’s launch plans and investment opportunities.
Hundreds of guests attended the exclusive invitation only seminar where Royal Bengal Airline
informed the audience that it has agreed to buy their first two domestic aircraft outright and are due
to launch their domestic and regional services in Bangladesh within the next couple of months. The
Managing Director, Shalim Rahman announced that the engineering team will shortly carry out the pre
delivery inspection of the domestic aircrafts; the first two out from a fleet of ten.

Heron Miah, one of the Royal Bengal Airline vice chairmen stated that "its our duty to let the UK bengali community know about Royal Bengal Airline, it is their airline, a gift for the community". Large scale exlusive and public seminars are being arranged in Greater Manchester and Newcastle after new offices were confirmed in both areas. Dates and venues to be announced shortly.

The Royal Bengal Airline team held pre seminars in Oldham, Manchester and Chester last weekend as the company’s journey continues and the team grows from strength to strength. These meetings were used to announce the opening of their global offices.
Royal Bengal Airline informed the Bengali community in the north of its plans and announced that it has long term objectives to develop a route from Manchester to Dhaka as well as its initial routes from London to Dhaka and Birmingham to Dhaka. Plans for the new RBA London office were on display and the focused audiences were told of the series of aircrafts that the company will be acquiring for operation.

Royal Bengal Airline was invited to the BBC Asian Network on Sunday 24th December in Birmingham. The RBA directors, Maruf Miah, Mizanur Rahman, Abdul Shukur Khalisadar, Forhad Hussain and Fokrul Hussain were special guests on the extremely popular BBC Bengali entertainment show "BBC Weekend Bengali", hosted by Anwarul Hoque.
Royal Bengal Airline introduced its company and vision to hundreds of thousands of Bengali listeners world wide and informed the audience of RBA's company history, its long term aims and objectives.

Royal Bengal Airline is issued its Domestic & International Passenger & Cargo license in Bangladesh

The Vice Chairman, Heron Miah and one of the founding directors Shahidul Islam of Royal Bengal Airline came back from Bangladesh in August 2006 where an international and domestic passenger & cargo airline license was granted.
This took months of hard work by the RBA management team, working rigorously with the Bangladesh civil aviation authority, where several meetings with the aviation minister, Mr Fokrul Islam were held. The minister will be coming over to the UK to attend an up coming RBA seminar as a guest of honor very soon.
